[description] The Federal Reserve is taking extraordinary steps to calm financial markets, after the sudden collapse of Bear Stearns, one of the world's most venerable investment banks, which had invested heavily in risky mortgages. Other investment houses could face a similar fate. We speak with Nariman Behravesh, Chief Economist with the economic analysis firm Global Insight. As the U.S. Supreme Court gets set to release its decision on whether gun rights are protected by the second amendment of the constitution, we look at the arguments for and against proposals to allow guns on college campuses. Several states are considering laws to allow students to carry concealed weapons. Utah is the only state where it's already allowed. A recent report finds that homicides, robberies and assaults involving firearms continued to rise last year in many American cities. We look at homicide in Boston and Philadephia. Guest host David Boeri reports from Dorchester, a neighborhood in Boston, and we speak with Michael Matza of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Philadelphia murder rate this year is higher than in New York City. Newsweek magazine publishes some of the last letters home from soldiers killed in Iraq.
