Thanks for joining us so I was just given some fresh numbers on turn out in the city of Boston which of course has a very hot mayoral race 17%. Turnout as a 3 PM it sounds like that's pretty strong."

" Yeah I mean I'm that's my sense too I mean I can't remember the exact number that we have a preliminary election I think it was like 24% or something like that. We've got several hours left believe polls close at 8 o'clock so. You know if you're assuming that there's going to be pretty heavy. Voter. You know flood of voters after in through the after work crowd then you know we could we could see a fairly significant current."

" What's your sense on on how this race will go Mayor Menino of course going for an unprecedented fifth term his challenger Michael Flaherty and his running mates and you have been. Talking themselves up in the past couple of days making allegations. On intimidation saying that they believe. Many people that have been saying they'll support Mayor Menino are really gonna end up voting for Flaherty in the voting."

" Well see I mean I think they need a lot of those people. Inherited to come out on top I mean look at that. Polls that have been done showed him in the you know enjoy is a fairly sizable. We need I think it's been clear all along that Michael clarity is the challenger -- mean now I don't think Menino has ever active or or ever really been. The sort of the underdog here that or the trailing candidate so. I mean I think it's fair to say what you were expecting. That that -- will pull this out I think. And however it would be interesting to see what the margin is a mean of course there's always the possibility that that. Clarity gets a ton of voters out in and he pulls off an upset and I do think it would be an upset. I do think though that you know it's if you point to that single digits that's significant that shows there's a fairly sizeable chunk of this city. That has some dissatisfaction with Menino. If it's a wider margin. I think it says. Look voters think that the city's doing pretty well they see they see -- a reason to change court. They're also following a couple of other mayoral races closely one in Newton a former aide to Senator John Kerry up against -- state rat. He had this is one of the more interesting mayoral races around the state and and there are several of those you have root balls or who is that this state representative from Newton. For for awhile and then up against city Warren who is a former aide to Senator John Kerry. I think that -- been fairly close. I'm in two pretty interesting candidates. We're looking to replace David Cohen is in the new mayor for awhile. And I think it's hard to know exactly its -- are pulling in these other racist so it's hard to know exactly where things stand but. I think that that has been a tough race and I think we'll probably go down to the wire Lawrence voters could elect the State's first Latino there. Yeah Lawrence is another interesting out want to watch. We Montego isn't state rep. As of against the city counselor there aren't a lot of people are watching for the reason you just said I believe if Clinton were to win the first -- there. That the state has seen -- to think significant. Would be a significant benchmarking and certainly an interesting and dynamic in this city that that of course has a lot of Latino voters."

" And North Adams another place that has pretty tight mayoral race they could have a new mayor for the first time in what 26 years."

" Yet this is on the other side of the state you've got John Barrett is the longest serving mayor in the stated very interesting colorful guy has been in office very I think. A couple of decades plus. -- facing a tough reelection fight against Dick Albright -- a city councilor out there. And has pretty strong ties. -- North Adams as well. Picked up the endorsement of senate candidate and Attorney General Martha Coakley which -- interest and I believe she grew up with him and in North Adams so that's you know that's sort of another wanna watch him I think that that kind of macro picture here is that there are a lot of long term. Incumbents. Up for reelection and I think you know we could and that in some although on -- of another but it's. Overall kind of an interest in referendum on on these these largely men who have been in office for years and you know. Do voters think things are good enough to keep stick with them more or is time for change will know what gets about it o'clock."
