Elizabeth airman joins us from the Boston Globe newsroom with a preview Elizabeth thanks for being here good to be here thank you so you highlight all kinds of things in this upcoming issue of Boston Globe magazine let's start with a hidden -- that you unearthed. At Logan now we just picked out a couple on rocking chairs for one."
" Yeah others about a hundred rocking chairs throughout the airport and one of the best places to find them is in the walkway between terminals B and C. Because it's quiet. There's no TV on no distractions and there's a great view of the tarmac since you're looking for a place with a little peace and quiet as to read between planes it's a great place to do it. Another hit and -- are these new kiosks where you can download movies yet this is actually really exciting program it's actually company out of Toronto -- they've chosen Logan to do their pilot program and they're only available in terminal a unfortunately if you're flying out of another terminal right now but you can get current release for 599 and classics bird like I think 399. And also travel guides and there's going to be more coming. It's always challenging to find entertainment for kids if you're stuck at Logan I tell us about -- courtrooms the kid port is great especially get a -- his crazy for planes or one who's a little bit afraid because they have. Small scale. Airport like they have a little cockpit and control tower and a little airplane and baggage carousel and the kids can climb around on them and there's two of these ones in -- one's in terminal aid. The one in terminal they actually has great floor so if mom and dad have tired heat. Take off your shoes and walk around on the floor it's like -- cushion in -- it's great. That's good for toddlers -- yes well that's -- the they can run around and not hurt himself so let's talk about some of the retail -- shopping is another good way to kill time if if you're stuck -- look at the first place that you like is -- turner is -- really great for mostly for women they do have some -- things also but it's mostly -- for women they have colorful little handbags -- you know if you lose your hearing on the way to the airport and you need to pick up a new -- That they that I loved the most was they have these past -- notebooks scarves and their only -- stores ten dollars. And they have about two dozen collars of these things and I'm always called an airplane side you know I've forgotten my -- there's always a place to pick one up. And ten -- that's -- guilt free you M -- I never sure had a dollar for everything star a lot of people also have to pick up host or hostess gift or are of -- get -- a good idea right fabulous you can't imagine the different flavors they have -- also delicious and they have also it's they have a shot in Belmont called -- off sides and they have flavors like butter finger and chocolate coconut and orange screen and just everything you can imagine the only problem is you wanna pick up one for yourself to your host this might not get -- this -- Another dining places you food. Yeah that's a good one because it's fast -- it's also healthy food NC can get baked French Fries and baked chicken fingers and things like that. And they also has movies with things like echinacea and vitamin C in them. And you say that dine Boston is probably the best dining locations look at well I didn't need it every place but it's it's the nice thing about time Boston is they have a rotating menu in their sit down they have an eating area and then they also have a takeout place with cappuccinos and things like that and the eating area. Rotates chefs from around the Boston area every three months -- there's always the menu -- is by a fabulous local sat."
" And where is dine Boston located that's outside of terminally OK good to know so everybody wants to know what the best deals are for parking and there's a lot of information. It in this but outlook just give -- a couple of tips. You say people should check their local parking rates before they head out to look -- BS some."
" And the suburbs you know parking is at a premium in Logan and so it's a little more expensive usually the only thing if you. Go to parking -- spot in your neighborhood you might have to just budget more time for the bus ride into Logan but it can be a better deal definitely."
" Okay central parking and terminal BR the most convenient but they're also the most expensive so you say right. -- look at the economy lot or terminal he locked to."
" Yes those are the only places in the airport where you can get weekly parking and it's a 108 dollars the daily parking can really add up if it you know you're here for six days it might I don't even know but it might even be cheaper to go with the seven day. In the economy lot. And you still save money and if people drive hybrids they have some parks they do they have now they have guaranteed spots on all levels I think in central parking and terminal B. So the your preferred parking. And it's guaranteed if you got a heart hybrid."
" All right Elizabeth Garamendi an insider's guide to low -- people confined it in this Sunday's Boston Globe magazine thanks for joining us thanks for. Having me."
