The spate of violence continues in Iraq, with more clashes between Iraqi security forces and Shiite militias. In one of many such raids this week, three Americans were seriously wounded by a rocket attack on the heavily-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad. We speak with Washington Post reporter Sudarsan Raghavan in Baghdad. How hard is it to secure a mortgage? As foreclosures continue and money becomes harder to find? We speak to Amy Tierce, a mortgage lender in Needham, Massachusetts, about some of the challenges consumers face. Credit scores are being closely scrutinized. Appraisals are, too. Several months into the mortgage market crisis, we look at the new shape the industry is taking. We speak with Wall Street Journal correspondent Siobhan Gorman. President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Malaki are forging a long term defense pact that would oblige US troops to protect Iraq for years to come. The president says he can approve the deal without congressional approval, but legal experts say this kind of deal has never been approved without Senate ratification. Boston Globe reporter, Charlie Savage, joins us with more. We also speak with retired Marine captain and former assistant secretary of defense, Bing West, who's just back from Iraq. West says the surge is working and U-S troops are doing great things in Iraq but the political situation there is still chaotic. Today we look at romance

A sober new intelligence report paints a grim picture for the Iraqi government's chances of overcoming sectarian divide. The report also shows that the American military has had recent success in reducing sectarian violence and warns that a premature American military withdrawal could lead to more chaos in Iraq. We speak to Demetri Sevastopulo, Pentagon and Intelligence Correspondent for the Financial Times. President Bush goes on the offensive with more speeches supporting the surge in Iraq. Meantime, groups on both sides of the war are running ads trying to influence Congress ahead of the administration's progress report on the war next month.
