[description] A law expanding the government's ability to spy on Americans without court-approved warrants may expire Saturday, because House democrats are unhappy about a provision granting immunity to telephone companies that cooperated with the government in the surveillance. We speak with Wall Street Journal correspondent Siobhan Gorman. President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Malaki are forging a long term defense pact that would oblige US troops to protect Iraq for years to come. The president says he can approve the deal without congressional approval, but legal experts say this kind of deal has never been approved without Senate ratification.
