Milton School Food Manager Charged in Theft
[description] The former coordinator of the Milton school food service, Suzeanne D. Greene, 53, of South Boston, has been charged with stealing more than $83,000 in cash from the lunch program. Suzeanne D. Greene, a food service coordinator who oversaw the cash in the district's lunch program, was indicted Thursday by a grand jury in Norfolk County Superior Court. She will be summoned to appear in court for arraignment. A date has not been set. Police and school officials have accused Greene, 53, of South Boston, of stealing more than $83,000 in cash from the lunch program. Deputy Police Chief Paul T. Nolan said police worked with the Norfolk County district attorney's office on the case over many months. School Superintendent Magdalene Giffune said the theft is morally reprehensible. "The food service is an all-cash business; it does not come from the taxpayers, it comes from kids and their parents when they pay for their lunch," Giffune said. "She stole their lunch money. It's disgusting; I am disgusted and I am disheartened," she said.
